For the second week in a row, Cocoa High and Miami Booker T. Washington switched places.

A host of Cocoa High defenders gang tackle a Lake Highland Prep runner during Friday nights game held at Cocoa High Stadium.
Voting in the Class 4A state football polls shifted in BTW’s favor away from Cocoa this week, by one point.
Two more Florida sports writers voted than than did a week ago in balloting compiled by the Associated Press. That may have accounted for the change, while three first-place votes that went to Jacksonville Bolles last week, instead went to the two leaders.
BTW was No. 1 in this, the fifth poll of the year, with nine first-place votes and 152 points. Cocoa was at seven and 151.

The Tigers will be one of four Brevard County teams playing ranked teams this week, including two playing each other. Cocoa will visit Viera, which held at No. 9 in Class 7A, on Friday at 7 p.m. St. Thomas Aquinas stayed atop the 7A poll.
Both the Tigers and Hawks won last week. Cocoa beat Lake Highland Prep in the District 5-4A opener, 49-24, and Viera beat non-district foe Kathleen, 13-7.
Cocoa had overtaken BTW last week after the Tornadoes suffered an unexpected loss to unranked Miami Jackson.
Holy Trinity will host a top-ranked team. Cambridge Christian, in its second week at No. 1 in Class 2A, visits the Tigers, also Friday at 7. Holy Trinity comes off a 54-14 loss at Melbourne Central Catholic, but the Tigers still got six points themselves in 3A voting. MCC, which had not received votes this year, got 13.
Heritage, which received 6A votes, will host Kissimmee Osceola, the No. 2 team in 8A, also Friday.
Palm Bay held at No. 5 in Class 5A. The Pirates host Melbourne this week. The top team in 5A, Plantation American Heritage, was unchanged as were all of the top seven spots.
The other No. 1 teams this week were Apopka in Class 8A, Miami Central in 6A, Clearwater Central Catholic (3A) and Madison County (1A).
