For the Terriers, last week’s CCC win was the fourth in a row, but for the Raiders, it was history.

For the first time in 30 years, Rockledge coach Janice Johnson got to take a dive in the pool, thrown in by the winning team members as is tradition.

“I knew that anything could happen,” Johnson said. “Truthfully, this is not the best team I’ve had, but just the way things worked out, we ended up on top. The boys just had some really good swims.”

Noah Andronescu continued an unbeaten season. He won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.16 seconds and the 500 in 5:00.47. He also swam on winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Those were the four events won by Rockledge, which scored 324 points to 311.5 for Viera. Titusville followed at 282.5.

The Terriers scored 485 in the girls’ race, and Viera was second at 369. Cocoa Beach (341) placed third.

Also today, Holy Trinity is hosting the 1-5A meet at the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian, where the 3-5A meet was held last week. Both the boys and girls teams from Viera won there, and both Melbourne teams were third.

Viera’s Sarah Rousseau (485 points) won the girls diving title by 80 points on her road to defend her state championship. She and the other qualifiers will compete at the Region 2-5A meet on Saturday in Lakeland.

Also at the CCC meet, Julianna Graf won both the 200 free (2:02.34) and 500 free (5:32.58). Cocoa Beach’s Adrianna DeBoer took the 200 intermediate medley in 2:14.80 and the 100 breast (1:09.50). On the boys’ side, her Titusville teammate Tyler Tatro won the 200 free (1:49.94) and 100 backstroke (57.63).
