Satellite’s boys and girls cross country teams both placed third in their Class 2A races on Saturday in the state finals at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahasee.
Amanda Beach of Melbourne Central Catholic placed fifth among 2A girls. Her time of 18:09.70 was the best of the day by a Brevard girl. Holy Trinity’s Samantha Folio finished second in the Class 1A girls race, running an 18:34.23.
For the Scorps boys, John Cacciatore placed fourth in 2A at 15:36.00, and Mason Jones of Titusville also made the top 10 with a 15:45.82. The Satellite boys compiled 66 points, just two behind state runner-up Bolles of Jacksonville.
Titusville was seventh. In 1A, the Brevard Heat boys placed eighth.
Folio and the Holy Trinity girls had the only other top-five team finish. The Tigers were fifth.
