For several weeks after the end of the high school football season, all-star games populate the calendar. It is that time of year.
Dez Arthur of Palm Bay was named to both the FACA and the Central Florida All-Star games.
Friday, Brevard County seniors will face off against rivals to the south in the Space Coast vs. Treasure Coast game. It will be played at Port St. Lucie High at 7 p.m. Admission is $5.
Eau Gallie coach Tim Powers will coach the Space Coast team.

Dez Arthur of Palm Bay, Bruce Judson of Cocoa and Jayden Jackson of Melbourne were named to the North team for the 62nd annual Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Football Classic to be played at 1 p.m. on Saturday at The Villages High School.
The game, which is the oldest of its kind in the United States, began in 1949.
Judson was also chosen as a quarterback for the East team in the Central Florida All-Star Game, but that game was played at Lake Brantley on Dec. 8, the night Cocoa played for the Class 4A state title. Retiring Astronaut coach Randy Hallock served as the East coach.
Others from Brevard County chosen for the Central Florida All-Star game included Arthur and teammate B.J. Daniels; Nate Flemming of Melbourne Central Catholic; Jason Browning of Space Coast; E.J. Krajewski of Rockledge; Kyle Haderle of Eau Gallie; and Kenny Willoughby of Astronaut.

Satellite announces hiring of new coach
Jennifer Jackson has been named girls tennis coach for Satellite High.
Jackson, a former Scorpions player, is a media assistant at the school. She plays in the Space Coast Tennis League and is a former winner of the SCTL Sportsmanship Award. Jackson is a USTA Adult Teams Coordinator at Kiwi Tennis Club.
