Sasha Belaya, Viera girls tennis
Belaya won the Class 3A girls individual singles title on Thursday,k defeating Geetha Velusamy of Tarpon Springs East Lake, 6-2, 6-3 in the final. She then teamed with Izzie Diaz to win individual doubles over Gabriela Castello and Katherine Jakeway of Ponte Vedra Nease, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-1).
Tony Jenkins, Holy Trinity baseball
Jenkins hit a two-run homer in a 12-2 win over Eastern Kentucky. He also tied the county’s single-season stolen base record at 38. It was previously held by Tracy Biggs, who is now the Holy Trinity head coach.
Caitlin Meyer, Bayside softball
Meyer singled, doubled and hit a three-run homer while pitching a complete game in a 9-4 win over Palm Bay in district tournament play on Monday. For the season, she batted .429 and hit five homers.
Macie Monborne, Merritt Island track & field
Monborne won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 48.10 seconds, the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.86 and the high jump by clearing 5-0 on Wednesday at the District 13-3A track and field championship in Sebastian.
Desirae Mills, Palm Bay track & field
At the District 13-3A meet on Wednesday hosted by Sebastian River High, Mills won the long jump with a distance of 17 feet and the triple jump, at 33 feet, 8 1/2 inches.
